Safe Routes to School “Walk & Roll” challenge flyer featuring illustrations of a bicycle, skateboard, and helmet. Students are encouraged to travel to school with friends by walking or using wheels. Groups can complete the challenge before October 7 for a chance to win $50. The flyer promotes fun, connection, and safety while traveling in a group.Walking and/or rolling to school or other places in groups is an awesome, safe, community building activity, either from home or from a meet-up spot that is walking/biking distance from wherever you are traveling!

Do you (or will you) walk or roll to school or another destination with buddies or another family? If so, participate in the Safe Routes to School Buddy Travel Challenge between now and October 7th!

To participate in our Challenge, visit our online form to tell us your story about two or more students from neighboring families who travel together on foot, bike, bus or even carpool.

Habits are more likely to stick when families support each other. There’s safety in numbers and groups are more easily seen by drivers. Best of all, friendships and fun memories are formed!

Sonoma County Safe Routes to School will choose 3 inspiring Buddy Travel stories to highlight & award each group with a $50.00 gift card. Notifications will be sent out in October.

Safe Routes to School “Walk & Roll” Travel With Friends Challenge form. Students are invited to travel with friends during September by walking, biking, scootering, carpooling, or taking the bus. The form asks participants to share information about their group and their experience traveling together. Entries are due October 7, and three winning groups will receive $50.
