Cali Calmécac Language Academy

Elementary (TK-5th)

Elementary (TK-5)

Students are accepted to CCLA through second grade. In our elementary program, instruction is delivered primarily in Spanish using a 90/10 dual-language model, helping students build strong bilingual and biliteracy skills from the start.

The journey begins in Transitional Kindergarten (TK), a public school program for children who turn 4 years old on or before September 1. Students enrolled in TK are automatically placed in kindergarten the following year. The TK curriculum is based on a modified kindergarten program that is age- and developmentally appropriate.

In TK, all subject matter is taught in Spanish without translation. Students also participate in a daily English Language Development (ELD) period to support balanced language growth.

These elementary years lay the foundation for a strong bilingual educational journey while maintaining high expectations in core academics and offering enrichment through art, music, and integrated learning experiences.
