Students are only accepted to CCLA through the second grade. At the elementary grades, classes are taught primarily in Spanish, with minimal English (90/10 ratio).
It all starts in the Transitional Kindergarten, a public school program for 4-year-olds who turn 4 on or before September 1st. Children who are enrolled in Transitional Kindergarten will be automatically enrolled in a regular kindergarten class the following year. The curriculum is modeled on a modified kindergarten curriculum that is age and developmentally appropriate. In Transitional Kindergarten all subject matter is taught in Spanish, without translation. Additionally, all students receive a daily period of English language development (ELD).
These elementary years lay thefoudnation for a bilingual educational journey. while still promoting string academcis in core subjects and providing enrichment through art and music classes and integration.
